Designing A Comfortable Sunroom

Whether you already have a sunroom attached to your home or you are thinking about building one, there are several design ideas to choose from depending on the size and the style that you desire. A benefit of a sunroom renovation is that it can be built directly attached to the home just like any other room or attached with a doorway that you go through to reach the room.

A large bay window allows for viewing the yard and lets sunlight into the room, offering plenty of light while sitting at a table placed in front of the window or sitting in a comfortable chair while reading a book. Add a window seat along the length of the window with pillows for a charming look.

There is no reason that the sunroom has to be at the back or the side of the home. It could be built at the front of the home as well. This design allows you to greet visitors and sit on an enclosed porch instead of retreating inside the home. It also offers an opportunity to enjoy time with your children when they get home from school before they go inside the house.

Create an outdoor appearance in the sunroom with dark green shades, plants, white furniture, and cushions with flowers or leaves on them. A hardwood floor is a nice option as well with this design. Consider a swing in this type of sunroom with oversized pillows that match the other colors in the room. Create an elegant look with any sunroom design by installing a chandelier and gold accents on the tables. White paint on the walls and picture windows or thin columns on the sides of the windows combine with the colors to enhance the elegant look that you’re trying to achieve.
