Best For Small Bathroom

Our bathroom is small but this one is better than the one that we had when we were still renting. But even it is small I still want to redesign it since I am still in a tight budget and still saving, I guess these ideas will make me interested of putting some stuff in our bathroom. But of course, I just don’t need to add things on it; functionality is the key that means to say I don’t need to add things that are not necessary. It is given already that our bathroom is so small, why do I have to add things that are not important and are not functional anyway? So what are the things that are functional could be a towel bar, this time maybe I would like to buy colorful ones to add pops of color. Painting is important too, but need to make sure that the color would utilize texture and patterns so to add creativity and not just you’re doing it because you’d like to do it. Make it match so you will not feel sorry in the end.

Our Neighbor Is Repairing Their Gutter

And I am so envious because they were able to do it right away when they found that the gutter is already busted. The gutter almost falling off now and in no time they were able to hire someone to fix it, in fact they were able to replace the whole gutter instead of only fixing the part that almost falls off already but me I am still trying to save at least to renovate the whole house, I need at least P 100, 000. 00 pesos to fix and to put an extra bedroom at least before my husband will arrive.  Oh no, don’t get me wrong my husband won’t be arriving soon, he is also saving for it.

Now that the car is busted, I used my savings for me to repair it plus my husband wasn’t able to wire recently as scheduled because he is running out of budget already. I don’t know what to do anymore, I don’t want to lose hope to fix the house especially my kids are looking forward for it. I need to sell the car at least after it is fix but I also need to attend the kids enrollment.

I can see the improvement of our neighbor’s house, while I am still stock with just planning.

Started Like This

Just last week, I decided to use my savings to put up the awning type in the laundry area. It has been like years that I am planning to put one up but I always out of budget so last December, I tried to save up and was able to come up with an amount, I planned to just withdraw it on May but I realized summer is fast approaching and it would be so hot in our laundry area, my sister already have a hard time doing the laundry there how much more during summer. So I withdraw it and hired someone to do it and its worth it, sister is so happy with it, she doesn’t have to suffer anymore under the dreading heat of the sun.

It started like this:

Designing a More Environmentally Friendly Kitchen

Concern for the health of the environment is not a new concept, but it is one that is taking hold when it comes to remodeling existing homes. Below are a few ideas for adding a few environmentally friendly features to your kitchen space.

Incorporate Natural Lighting

Natural lighting is healthier and uses less electricity than artificial lighting. Consider adding skylights, when possible and adding wider windows. LED lighting uses less energy and provides better light, if it is not possible to increase natural lighting in your kitchen space.

Create Better Air Ventilation

Indoor air is considered to be twice as polluted as outside air. It is essential to find ways to bring fresh air into your kitchen. Incorporate some type of ventilation system that will offer a good air exchange when updating your kitchen.

Use Energy Star Appliances

Energy Star appliances have been tested and rated to use much less energy than other contemporary models. Saving energy is one of the best ways to help the environment. Energy Star rated appliances come in many styles and run as efficiently and powerfully as any other.

Avoid Stains, Paints and Products That Emit Toxins

Cupboards, countertops and flooring can all be coated or created with products that emit toxic substances, such as formaldehyde. Seek out products that are environmentally friendly and will not push out toxic substances that can be harmful to you, your family and pets.

Avoid Building a Kitchen Island

Rather than having a kitchen island built, try taking an old stand or dresser and place it on rollers. You can cover it with cutting board material and have the perfect kitchen island. It saves an older piece of furniture from ending up in the landfill. You will get the extra counter space and storage you need and feel great about it.

Re-purpose As many Items As Possible

Why buy brand new decor from the store when you can find used items for re-purposing? You can have a lot of fun exploring flea markets and thrift stores to find the right items for storage or decoration. You might even be fortunate enough to find older copper-bottom pans with original patina. It will be an attractive display item that your friends and family will love.
