Where Will I Go?

Matina is the only commercial place near in our house. Its in between our place and in downtown, so if I only want to buy a few or do some transactions in my bank, I’d rather go there than in downtown.

In that place, theres only one store for renting dvd’s or cd’s. The Video City. When I went there today to rent cd’s, they informed me immediately that they will be no longer serving at all and that they will store their tapes in Gaisano Mall, located ahead in the main downtown. Too far away I said. I can’t just go there to rent or return their tapes. Its nonsense!

I love to watch movies during my spare time at home. But now I think I have to stop renting tapes for it will charge me more if I will. The fare going to down town is expensive enough to just rent some cd’s. I’d rather be watching movie in the you tube or in the Movie Rumor Page where you can watch free!

What if when your walking down the street, you would see a wallet that only contains a penny and a letter, what will you do? Are you going to try to look after the owner or you will just throw it away as if you’re just throwing a piece of paper.

Who would care a wallet which doesn’t have anything? Well, Arnold Fine has a different experience when he found a wallet in the street, the letter was very intriguing and that he would like to find who the owner was. Here’s the story:

As I walked home one freezing day, I stumbled on a wallet someone had lost in the street. I picked it up and looked inside to find some identification so I could call the owner. But the wallet contained only three dollars and a crumpled letter that looked as if it had been in there for three years.

The envelope was worn and the only thing that was legible on it was the return address. I started to open the letter hoping to find some clue. Then I saw the date-line–1924. The letter had been written almost sixty years earlier.

It was written in a beautiful feminine handwriting, on powder-blue stationery with a little flower in the left hand-corner. It was a “Dear John” letter that told the recipient, whose name appeared to be Michael, that the writer could not see him anymore because her mother forbade it. Even so, she wrote that she would always love him. It was signed Hannah.

It was a beautiful letter, but there was no way, except for the name Michael, to identify the owner. Maybe if I called information, the operator could find a phone listing for the address on the envelope.

As I tried so hard to reach who wrote the letter and with the help of the operator’s supervisor. I found out that Hannah is living now in a nursing home after her mother passed away some years ago.

I was hesitant and said to myself, This whole thing is stupid!

However, even I was having the thought of not calling hannah at all. I still phoned the nursing she is staying now.

After talking to the in charge, I immediately drove over to the place, and the night nurse introduce me to hannah. She was a sweet, silver haired old timer with a warm smile and a twinkle in her eye.

I told her about finding the wallet and showed her the letter. She then recognized the letter and said “Young man, this letter was the last contact I ever had with Michael. I loved him very much but I was only 16 years old at that time and my mother forbade me to see him.” “Mr. Michael Goldstein was a wonderful person and please do tell him, I still love him.” Hannah said, almost biting her lip.

I thanked hannah and said goodbye, I took the elevator to the first floor and as I stood by the door, the guard their asked, “Was the old lady able to help you,?” I told him she had given me a lead. As I had taken out the wallet. The guard recognized the wallet and said “Hey, that’s Mr. Goldstein wallet. He’s always losing that wallet.” “He’s one of the old timers on the eight floor.”

I went to the eight floor and prayed that Mr. Goldstein would be up. And he was, the nurse introduce me to him and asked if he had lost his wallet. Mr. Goldstein said Oh! It is missing!” As I gave him the wallet I said “I have to tell you something when I found the wallet, I read the letter in the hope of finding out who owned the wallet. And I think I know where Hannah is.” He suddenly grew pale. “Hannah? You know where she is? How is she? Is she still as pretty as she was? Please, please tell me,” he begged.

And I lead him to the third floor where Hannah stayed. and then there as they stood facing each other, with tears in their eyes, they embraced each other. and I left with tears streaming down our faces.

About three weeks later, I got a call at my office from the nursing home. Hannah and Michael will going to tie a knot and they invited me to be the best man on their wedding!

See how the good Lord works! If it’s meant to be, it will be!

A Birthday Gift

My birthday is approaching. I’ll be turning 31 on October 23rd, I am getting older aaargh! But I don’t mind it anyway as long as Honey wont stop loving me.

Today, I worry no more for I have passed it over. I was Scared for I thought the things in my mind will going to happen, but today we have prove it, that I was just thinking it too hard paranoid and overreacting.

On my birthday, Honey will give me a gift that I will always remember for the rest of my life, and for sure it will mark in my heart. I hope I can talk to her and tell her that everything will be fine, that she should not worry much for I will always be here no matter what happen.

I hope the visits will go smoothly and we will enjoy the time I will spend with her.

I am looking forward to that day, my very special day will be more special for this gift. Its a birthday bash from my honey and a gift I will always kept.

Thank you very much hon, for letting me experience what is it like to stay in a place I never been. I thought it will be just a forever dream I will never have. But now, I am already counting the days. One month more to go and I will have it.
