Saving Energy

I just read this new tip in an article guys and I was thinking to share this to you. We already have known that crisis is hitting all over places and if we won’t be careful with our budget we surely going to run out of money all the time. And we must admit that, while our sources is going down and yet our bills are getting high. To worsen the scenario is we cannot stop our bills to come our way, every month they would knock at our door and even uninvited, they still do not care because we are responsible to it.

As the saying goes if you can’t deal with it then ride with it! Make peace with your electric bill. Here’s how:

Take Control: The first step to lowering your electric expenses is to take charge of energy consumption and making it more efficient. Small things can be bad if we don’t give our full attention. Sometimes simple things or solutions could help us more if we don’t take it for granted.

To become more energy efficient:

  1. Refrigerator/Freezer- you have to look for energy-saving features, fill your refrigerator capacity and make sure that the door gaskets are in good condition. And that you have to close the door tight.
  2. Range/Oven – Avoid using the electric stove for heating and re heating your food since you are using it very often. Microwave oven is the best tool for reheating a food as it only takes a few minutes to operate the said oven. The electric stove can be used even after you turn it off by turning the stove off when the dish you are cooking is almost done, since the plate of the electric stove is still hot.

Go toward the light: You have to switch off the light when the dawn breaks and the sun starting to shine. If you are using incandescent bulbs then you may have to replace with compact fluorescent light.

Stay Cool: You should also be closing the window in your room or seal those areas when hot air can enter. The air condition should have a regular basin for cleaning of the filter so to ensure compressor efficiency.

Ironing Smart: Avoid using your iron everyday when you have to get ready in any appointment. And if you get to buy one for you, you should choose the one, which has thermostat settings appropriate for various types of fabric. Buy also a model, which has a steam sprayer, as what really irons the fabric is not the heat but the steam.

I hope these tips can help you guys to maintain a not so high electric bill. Remember, time flies so fast as well as our money. But if you take control and use it wisely, then you would be surely smiling the whole year round.
